Relasjonen
A professional book about what shapes a dog: biological foundations, experience, regulation, safety, environment and interaction with people.
The book is written in Norwegian.
A book about what shapes a dog
Relasjonen explores why a dog becomes the dog it is. By considering the mechanisms behind behaviour, it can be easier to distinguish a possible cause from a visible symptom and to understand a dog’s everyday needs.
The book looks at how biology, experience, regulation, safety, expectations, environment and interaction can work together over time.
It is intended for people who want to understand more than the visible behaviour—whether life with their dog is going well or whether uncertainty, stress, contact or reactions are creating challenges.
Relasjonen draws on perspectives from ethology, neurobiology, learning and research on social regulation, presented with everyday understanding in mind.
